Stop Gaslighting Black People
by Sonya Dickerson
Erick Erickson is a conservative, evangelical talk radio show host and an American blogger. He hosts the show, Atlanta’s Evening News with Erick Erickson.
Erick can’t seem to make up his mind whether or not he supports Trump. He stated that he “would never vote for Trump”, just to turn around and endorse him for the 2020 Presidential election. This is the same man who signed a manifesto condemning homosexuality and transgender identity.
Parkland School mass shooting survivor and teenage gun control advocate David Hogg was attacked by Erickson claiming that Hogg wasn’t in the school when the shooting occurred, but this was found to be false. He then called David a “bully” after calling for a boycott of a certain Fox News host. This is after that same host mocked and bullied Hogg about not getting into the college of his choice.
Some of Erick’s worst statements have praised “Pinochet type” dictators and leaders in Latin American countries. People like Erickson love “freedom” and “Democracy” but only for himself and not for other people in the world. “I’m hoping for some helicopters in this plan,” he said. This statement was in direct reference to the Pinochet regime and their infamous “death flights” for his perceived enemies.
