Asians wear European clothing? What are you talking about? That is clearly not appropriation. That’s called “assimilation”. If Asians were to walk down the street in their traditional clothing, they are mocked and told to “get out of my country!” There is a difference between appropriation, appreciation, and assimilation. Differences you CLEARLY didn’t take the time to even learn about.

You’re right. People scream appropriation too much. The girl wearing the Chinese dress was not guilty of it. IT’s when you take something from another culture and 1. mock it or 2. take it as your own, call it something else, and then change it fundamentally.

Yoga is a clear example of appropriation from the West. Goats jumping up and down on people’s back doing Yoga is not what Yogis invisioned. Nor is a holster for your Yoga pants. It goes against the whole idea for Yoga. Peace and understanding. Why do you need a holster? That is appropriation.

I wish you’d kindly explain what the hell are “European” clothing. If you mean European traditional clothing, then I could possibly understand that argument but you didn’t say that, now did you?
